The Atkins’ Diet
Although it originated back in the 1960s, the famous atkins diet is still one of the most popular diets today. Although highly controversial, it supposedly allows fat reduction whilst allowing you to eat many foods that are not normally available to dieters, for example bacon and hard cheese.
Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet it is considered good to eat fat and protein, it is carbohydrates that need to be avoided. It is often referred to as a high protein, low carb, weight loss regime.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including, but not limited to, cereals and pasta made from white flour.
On the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat continues to be nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish & poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and olive oil.

3 c Toamtoes -- green

-peeled & chopped fine 1 Onion -- chopped

1/4 ts Cinnamon

1/8 ts Cloves -- ground

1 t Sugar

1/4 ts Pepper

2 c Water

1/4 ts Baking soda

3 tb Butter

3 tb Flour -- all purpose

4 c Milk

Place in the saucepan; the tomatoes, onion, cinnamon, ground cloves, sugar, pepper and water. Bring to a boil and boil for 30 minutes. Add the soda. Melt the butter, add the flour. Mix and add the milk. Cook till creamy, stirring constantly. Add green tomatoes to the cream. Mix thoroughly. Salt to taste and serve.
